CASTLE OF LA MOTA

CASTLE OF LA MOTA

This historic 15th-century fortress features a unique defensive design and underground shooting gallery, offering guided tours for an immersive experience.
It is the most emblematic building of our town. Declared B.I.C. in 1904. Although we have evidence of an earlier fortress, the castle we know today dates from the 15th century. The great keep from the time of Enrique IV, and it was the Catholic Monarchs who endowed it with a great defensive barrier with a modern underground shooting gallery. Recognized as one of the first castles in all of Europe to adapt to the use of artillery. To learn more about this fortress, guided tours are organized from the Castle Visitor Reception Center.
