The Colegio of Santo Domingo in Orihuela is a magnificent work of Spanish Renaissance architecture known as "The Escorial of the Levant" for its majestic facade. Its cloisters and its impressive baroque church leave no one indifferent. For centuries it was an important center for theological and philosophical studies. Currently the Diocesan College of Santo Domingo functions as a charter school, offering education from kindergarten to high school.
