TALAVERA DE LA REINA

The city of Talavera de la Reina, capital of a splendid natural region, is located in the fertile plains of the Tajo and Alberche rivers. A city so beautiful that it was given as a wedding gift to a queen. Alfonso XI presented it to his wife, Doña María of Portugal, upon their marriage in 1328, and since then Talavera bears the name "de la Reina" (of the Queen). Today, the city looks to the future without forgetting its past.
