THE ROAD TO SANTIAGO

THE ROAD TO SANTIAGO

This scenic pilgrimage route features historic monuments like the Cathedral and Roman Bridge, offering an authentic experience with fewer crowds.
The Vía de la Plata, the Jacobean route that comes from the south of the Peninsula, crosses Ourense passing by its main monuments such as As Burgas, the Cathedral, or the Roman Bridge. Just over 100 km separate the Plaza Mayor of Ourense from Santiago de Compostela, the minimum distance for pilgrims who make the journey on foot to obtain the Compostela. It is a route of great scenic beauty and less influx that still retains the authenticity of the pilgrimage.
