MONASTERY OF SAN JUAN DE LOS REYES

MONASTERY OF SAN JUAN DE LOS REYES

Built by the Catholic Monarchs to commemorate the Battle of Toro (1476), the general layout was designed by Juan Guas and is one of the finest examples of Hispano-Flemish Gothic. Highlights include the richly decorated crossing and main chapel, the elevated choir, the octagonal dome, the ribbed vault of the apse, and the beautifully decorated cloister.
