Gothic and Baroque churches offer impressive art and architecture, including Mudejar armour and alabaster altarpieces that captivate visitors.
The Gothic Church of Santiago (13th century) features a Mudejar wooden ceiling and an eight-headed dragon on the apse of the main altar. The Church of San Pedro (14th century), with three naves and a spiral rose window at the rear, houses the chapel of Fernando Alonso de Coca, with a beautiful altarpiece and alabaster tomb. The Church of La Merced (17th-18th centuries) features magnificent Baroque paintings inside.
