Located between Elche and Crevillente, this protected natural area is a valuable ecological site, declared a Natural Park and Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA). The wetland features lagoons, salt marshes, and marsh vegetation, serving as a refuge for over 170 bird species, including the marbled teal, white-headed duck, flamingos, herons, and avocets. Its flora includes reeds, rushes, and halophytic plants, creating a unique ecosystem vital to local biodiversity.
