WATER TANK

Built in the 18th century, this impressive underground site stands out for its vaulted ceilings and monumental fountains—perfect for history lovers.

The Pla del Aigua Reservoir was Lleida’s first water deposit, built in the late 18th century to ensure potable water supply for the city. Started in 1784 and completed eight years later, it is underground and covered by six barrel vaults resting on twenty-five pillars. It was filled with water from the Pinyana canal, which was distributed through six monumental fountains, some of which still exist in the city’s historic center.
