IGLESIA DE SANTIAGO

This Gothic-Renaissance temple features unique helical columns, a stunning baptismal font, and rich historical details, making it a must-visit for tourists.
This temple, built between the 14th and 16th centuries, is one of the most outstanding examples of Gothic-Renaissance style in the Valencian Community. Its design, influenced by Catalan Gothic, features an interior with three naves and an ambulatory, with twelve impressive helical columns, rare in Spanish churches. The Medina family promoted its construction in the 15th century, incorporating Renaissance elements such as the sacristy door. Among its most notable details are the baptismal font by Jacobo Florentino and the remains of the wrought iron grille from 1563. It was declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931 and is a Site of Cultural Interest.
