RAILWAY MUSEUM

This museum features a significant railway collection, showcasing Asturias' industrial history through thematic exhibits in a historic station setting.
The Railway Museum of Asturias has one of the most important railway collections in Spain. It is dedicated to the conservation, research, and dissemination of the industrial history of Asturias, whose backbone was the railway. The museum is located at the beginning of the historic working-class neighborhood of Natahoyo, whose origin, at the end of the 19th century, had much to do with the construction in 1874 of the Northwest Railway terminal, the current main building of the museum, on whose historic platform much of the rolling stock is displayed. The collection is organized into different thematic units. The contents are distributed between the old station building and the platforms, the permanent exhibition building, the track yard, and the multipurpose hall.
