In Albacete, tourists can enjoy, through a pleasant walk, a magnificent museum route, starting in Abelardo Sánchez Park with the Albacete Museum, of organic architecture, which integrates and blends with the environment, and where the archaeological collections and the collection of works by Benjamín Palencia stand out. Descending along Avenida de España, the tourist finds the Local Museum (former Town Hall) in Plaza del Altozano, of eclectic style and which houses, among others, the permanent exhibition of the Popular Art Collection of Ramirez de Lucas (that blonde from Albacete mentioned in Lorca's poem). A few steps ahead, in front of the current Town Hall, is the emblematic Museum of Cutlery, in the so-called "Casa del Hortelano", of neo-Gothic style, where you can enjoy magnificent pieces of various types. Finally, the tourist can go back to the childhood of many generations by visiting the Children's Museum, a unique pedagogical museum dedicated to the history of education and childhood.
The city also boasts numerous important exhibition centers and areas, such as the Cultural Center of La Asunción or the José Saramago House of Culture, which nurture the artistic and cultural interests of the people of Albacete and its visitors throughout the year. These interests are especially evident during the September Fair, the International Film Festival - Abycine, in October, the International Circus Festival in February, and the Festival of Torches in June.
