FAIRGROUNDS BUILDING

FAIRGROUNDS BUILDING

This unique circular enclosure, with its modernist kiosk, offers cultural and gastronomic activities, with its famous September fair standing out.
A circular enclosure composed of several concentric rings, with a kiosk in the center that is currently dedicated to leisure, designed by Daniel Rubio in a modernist style. The fairground building is a clear example of Manchego architecture, adapted for commercial activity. Albacete is the only city that has a venue dedicated to this purpose. This enclosure is also popularly known as “la sartén” (the frying pan). The September Fair is held annually from September 7 to 17 and is declared of International Tourist Interest. Currently, cultural, gastronomic, leisure, and other activities take place throughout the year.
