MENGA DOLMEN

MENGA DOLMEN

This prehistoric monument stands out for its impressive lintelled architecture and unique design, offering a unique experience for visitors.

Built 6000 years ago, it represents one of the pinnacles of lintelled architecture in European Prehistory. Its grandeur lies in the creation of an astonishing internal space unparalleled in other cases of European Megalithism, where the use of internal pillars is also uncommon, another of Menga's singularities. It is considered a corridor tomb, in which three areas can be distinguished: an atrium, a corridor, and a large burial chamber. It reaches a length of 27.5 meters and is covered with a mound 50 meters in diameter.
