THOLOS OF EL ROMERAL

THOLOS OF EL ROMERAL

This ancient site features a unique false dome tomb, showcasing corbelling techniques that create impressive enclosed spaces, perfect for history enthusiasts.
The construction dates back to 1800 BC. A false dome tomb, called tholos, built using the technique of corbelling. This method allowed the creation of enclosed spaces by approximating rows of stones in concentric circles as they rose, until closing the upper gap with a large slab. This is how the two burial chambers of this dolmen were built. The construction mainly used masonry, that is, stone slabs joined together without any mortar.
