CHURCH OF EL CARMEN

CHURCH OF EL CARMEN

This temple stands out for its impressive main chapel and its three majestic altarpieces, which reflect the artistic wealth of the period.

The construction of this temple began in the late 16th century. It has a simple façade, with its most significant element being its Mannerist portal. The main chapel is configured in its interior space as a large rectangular prism crowned with a half-sphere. What accentuates the majesty of this chapel are its three enormous altarpieces, particularly the central or main one, built in the years before 1747.
