CITY MUSEUM

CITY MUSEUM

This museum, housed in a historic palace, offers a chronological journey through history, showcasing artifacts from prehistory to the 21st century.
In 1966, the Municipal Museum of Antequera was created by the Directorate General of Fine Arts, by Ministerial Order of December 2 of that year. A new stage began, rehabilitating one of the most important palace houses in the city, the Palacio de Nájera, to host the newly created museum institution. Between 2009 and 2011, the space was remodeled and expanded, establishing a linear chronological discourse that shapes the various contents from prehistory to our 21st century.
