CHURCH OF SAN JUAN DE DIOS

CHURCH OF SAN JUAN DE DIOS

This historic church features a striking façade with Tuscan pilasters and a belfry, built from local sandstone, showcasing rich architectural heritage.
When the Order of the Hospitaller Brothers of St. John of God arrived in Antequera in the second half of the 17th century, the construction of the church bearing its name began, continuing until the late 18th century. The façade consists of a rectangle flanked by two large Tuscan pilasters and an entablature, above which the belfry is situated. All of this was made of sandstone from the ruins of the Roman city of Singilia Barba.
